High Purity Cryolite is a core material for the aluminum industry. Its chemical name is Sodium Fluoroaluminate, with the formula Na₃AlF₆. This product serves as the main flux in the Hall-Héroult electrolytic process. Aluminum oxide has a melting point above 2000°C. Direct melting is almost impossible. But when you add High Purity Cryolite, the mixture melts at around 900°C. This makes aluminum production both practical and cost-effective.
Yunnan Weiwei New Materials Co., Ltd. started operations in January 2025. Our factory sits in the Bibiao Industrial Park in Yanshan County, Yunnan Province. We have invested 35 million RMB in this facility. The plant covers 8,000 square meters. We run two fully automatic production lines. Our annual output exceeds 10,000 tons of cryolite. Where and How to Use High Purity Cryolite
Aluminum Electrolysis
This is the main use for High Purity Cryolite. It is used during pot start-up and normal production. High molecular ratio cryolite (2.8–3.0) keeps the electrolyte level stable. It also slows down shrinkage. This helps extend the life of the electrolytic cell. The product also lowers production costs. It flows well and works with mechanized feeding systems.
Abrasives and Grinding Wheels
High Purity Cryolite works as a wear-resistant additive in grinding products. It improves the wear resistance and cutting force of resin wheels. Studies show it can save about 10% of grinding energy when working on stainless steel.
Other Industries
High Purity Cryolite is also used in glass anti-reflection coatings, enamel opacifiers, welding flux, ceramic fillers, and pesticide formulations.

Our monthly production capacity is 2,000 tons of cryolite. In July 2025, we supplied 3,500 tons of electrolyte to Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum. From 2025 to 2026, we supplied over 2,000 tons of cryolite to Guizhou Xingren Aluminum. Our products serve the Northwest and Southwest aluminum electrolysis clusters. We are also expanding into Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The minimum order quantity is 3 tons. We support EXW, FOB, and DDP trade terms. Payment terms are flexible and negotiable. With convenient transportation in Yunnan and sufficient vehicle resources, we deliver on time as contracted.
