Cryolite is the most widely used flux in the aluminum electrolysis industry. Its chemical formula is Na₃AlF₆. The main job of Cryolite is to lower the melting point of aluminum oxide. This allows the electrolysis process to run at a much lower temperature. Almost every aluminum smelter in the world depends on Cryolite for daily production.

Key Applications of Cryolite
Aluminum Electrolysis
This is the largest application for Cryolite. It serves as the main component of the electrolyte. Cryolite helps aluminum oxide break down at lower temperatures. It also improves the conductivity of the electrolyte. This reduces power consumption. For every ton of aluminum produced, you need about 15 to 25 kilograms of Cryolite.
Abrasives and Grinding Tools
In the abrasives industry, Cryolite is added as a filler to resin grinding wheels. It improves cutting efficiency and heat dissipation. This helps prevent workpiece burnout during grinding.
Glass and Enamel
Cryolite is also used to make opaque glass and enamel glazes. It serves as an opacifier and flux in these applications.

Our Supply Record and Delivery Capability
In July 2025, we supplied 3,500 tons of electrolyte to Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum. From 2025 to 2026, we supplied over 2,000 tons of cryolite to Guizhou Xingren Aluminum. Our current monthly production is 2,000 tons of cryolite. The minimum order quantity is 3 tons. We support EXW, FOB, and DDP trade terms. Payment terms are flexible and negotiable.
